Wie wij zijn
Castlemain is al sinds 1979 ingeschreven bij de Kamer van Koophandel. Als makelaar en taxateur in schepen
ben ik in 1982 door de Amsterdamse rechtbank beëdigd.
Tussen toen en nu heeft Castlemain veel zeer diverse schepen verkocht op zowel de nationale, maar vooral ook de internationale markt.
Tevens was Castlemain eind jaren '90 de initiatiefnemer van de North Beach Yachts (www.northbeachyachts.nl).
Daarnaast ben ik 9 jaar voorzitter van de Nederlandse Bond van Makelaars in Schepen geweest (www.nbms.nl).
Gedurende die periode was ik voornamelijk betrokken bij de overgang van beëdiging naar certificering en accreditatie. Na meer dan dertig jaar als makelaar
en in inmiddels ook nog 65+ ben ik nog steeds enthousiast en behept met een nogal detaillistische kennis van zeiljachten.
Daarom beginnen we nu iets wat bij tijd en de leeftijd past. Een Platform voor Scherpe Zeiljachten tot zo rond 1975 - zeg maar van vóór de IOR-Rule -
en voor Retro-Zeiljachten van recentere bouwjaren. We noemen het:
‘Het Ouderwetse Zeilen’

Het aan- en verkoopplatform voor JONGE KLASSIEKERS en RETRO-SCHEPEN
Een platform voor JONGE KLASSIEKERS
Een platform voor bijvoorbeeld de Van de Stadt schepen van de Invicta tot de Pionier 9, de Excalibur, de Rebel 41 en de Gallant 53. Maar ook voor Noorse Folkboten,
Twisters, Rustlers, Contessas, Bowmans, Nicholsons enz. enz. Maar natuurlijk ook voor de klassieke 5,5 en 6 Meters.
En een platform voor RETRO-SCHEPEN
Een platform voor moderne schepen met een klassiek uiterlijk (retro-schepen) bijvoorbeeld de Drascombe, North Beach, Crabber, Shrimper, Gallant Gaffer,
Norfolk Smuggler, de beauties van Nigel Irens, en replica’s van echte Classics, zoals de Sopranino, enz. enz.
Waarom?
De ervaring leert; op deze schepen varen eenzelfde soort zeilers. Wat onderhoud aan boord uitvoeren of het schip wat extra aandacht geven is bijna
net zo belangrijk als het varen, want het schip is een onderdeel van het bestaan. Een mooie of karakteristiek gelijnde klassieker te hebben en te varen
geeft voldoening en een zekere trots. Dit soort schepen werden tot voorkort overal en nergens aangeboden, maar niet tezamen op één platform.
Daarom:
Daarom bieden we dat platform dat een referentiepunt wil zijn voor schepen die dit ‘ouderwetse zeilen’ vertegenwoordigen en uitstralen.
Een ontmoetingsplek voor kopers en verkopers van deze klassiek of karakteristiek gelijnde schepen.
Adverteren is gratis. No cure, no pay. Stuur een mailtje voor de voorwaarden.
Hoe werkt het?
Op deze website kunt u geen schepen vinden, maar wel informatie en/of specificaties opvragen. De schepen worden verzameld op www.botenbank.nl/nl/makelaars.
Klik in de makelaarslijst op het Castlemain logo, en dan op ‘Toon alle boten’. Van ieder schip is de specificatie via e-mail op te vragen.
Deze specificaties rollen wij ook uit in ons nationale en internationale netwerk.

Who we are
Castlemain registered with the Chamber of Commerce in Amsterdam in 1979, and I was sworn in as a yacht broker and valuer
at the Court of Amsterdam in 1982. Between 1982 and the present Castlemain has been selling a wide variety of ships on both the national
and the international market. Next to these activities Castlemain initiated North Beach Yachts (www.northbeachyachts.nl).
Castlemain was also chairman of the Dutch Association of Yacht and Ship Brokers (www.nbms.nl) for nine years. During this period
the Dutch government mader the decision to abandon the 400 year old Dutch system of only appointing brokers through a courts' order.
All brokers now need to self-control their professionalism through a system of certification, which is setting the benchmarks for education, experience
and ethics. As the chairman, I was closely involved in the process of setting up this system of self-control and certification.
After more than 30 years as a yacht broker and at an age most people retire, i am still enthusiastic and in the possesion of deatiled knowledge about many
types of sailing yachts. That is why Castlemain is going to do something that matches age and time. We are building a platform for Sailing Yachts
build up to aproximately 1975- prior to the IOR Recing Rule- and for Retro-Styled Sailing Yachts of more recent build. We Call it:
'Old Fashioned sailing'

'Old fashioned Sailing'
The Platform for Buying and Selling of YOUNG CLASSICS and RETRO-STYLED YACHTS
A Platform for YOUNG CLASSICS:
A platform for, for example Van de Stadt designed yachts: from Invicta to Pionier 9, Excalibur, Rebel 41 or even the Gallant 53.
But also for Folkeboats, Twisters, Rustlers, Contessas, Bowmans Nicholsons etc. etc. And of course right up to classic 5.5 and 6 Metre classes.
A Platform for RETRO-STYLED YACHTS:
A platform for modern yachts with classical look (retro-styled yachts) Drascombes, North Beaches, Crabbers, Shrimpers, Gallant gaffers, Norfolk Smugglers,
the Nigel Irens beauties, replicas of ‘real’ Classics like Sopranino etc. etc.
WHY?
Our experience tells us that these types of sailing yachts have similar owners. Doing a bit of DIY on board supplying your yacht with some extra TLC is often
as important as sailing itself. Sailing and owning such a yacht is more than a lifestyle; it is part of life. Owning and sailing such a young classic or retro-styled
yacht provides pleasure and a certain pride. This type of yachts is offered everywhere, but not together on a speciliazed platform.
THAT’S WHY!
We want to offer a platform that will establish a reference point for yachts representing this “Old fashioned Sailing”, a meeting point where buyers and sellers
can meet.

How does it work?
On this website you’ll find no yachts advertised. We present them through Botenbank, the oldest and probably most respected ‘Boating-Site’ in the Netherlands.

us an e-mail. We keep a full specification of all boats offered on file. These specifications are also distributed in our local and international network

If you would like to offer your ship for sale the terms andconditions of the Dutch association of Yacht and Ship Brokers
are applicable. These can be found on their website (www.nbms.nl). Unfortunately thiswebsite is completely in Dutch.
But a pdf file with the English terms and conditions can be downloaded.
Go in the menu on the top of the page to 'algemene voorwaarden'. Then select 'NBMS Algemene Voorwaarden 2008 gedeponeerd-Eng.pdf'
and click 'openen'.
Rates vary, depending on your own involvement in the sale of your ship. For more information on the various options and complementary rates
